What is NCCAOM?

The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) is a US based organization that validates entry-level competency in the fields of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine through a certification process that includes an exam. NCCAOM certification is required for licensure in 46 states and the District of Columbia. NCCAOM certifications are accredited by the National Commission for Certification Agencies (NCCA.) NCCAOM performs the credential analysis for US educated applicants and manages the exam for all applicants. ICD performs the credential analysis for applicants who have received their education outside of the US.
