Most ICD services require:

  • Notarized* photocopies of all diplomas, certificate and degrees.
  • A Request for Academic Records/Transcripts Evaluation Form completed and sent to ICD by your post-secondary school(s), even if you did not complete the program of study.
  • Transcripts or marks sheets from each post-secondary program you attended, even if you did not complete the program of study.
  • An English translation is required for any documents that are not in English and must be included with the native language document.

Massage therapists, physical therapists, and physical therapist assistants: If you were licensed in the same country where you were educated, you must send a Request for Validation of Registration/License for Credentials Evaluation Form to the licensing authority to complete and send directly to ICD.

Use the Service Selector to identify the correct ICD service for you and use your Shopping Cart to purchase it. Upon payment, you will have access to the forms and requirements needed to complete your report.

Purchase an order for an ICD credentials evaluation report in just three steps:

  1. Create an account in the ICD Applicant Portal.
  2. Use the Service Selector to identify the correct credentials evaluation service.
  3. Use your Shopping Cart to pay and access further instructions.

The first step for all ICD applicants is to register for an Applicant Portal account.

  1. Go to the ICD Self Register Page.
  2. Enter your email address and hit Send Code to verify it.
  3. Follow the prompts and provide the requested information.
  4. Choose your password and security questions.

Note: If you used an ICD service in the past, you will need to register for a new account to be matched to your existing ICD number, but you will not be able to access any orders still active prior to registering in the new service. Complete existing orders as instructed in your welcome letter.

Create an ICD Applicant Portal account and use the ICD Service Selector in your account dashboard.

The Service Selector will match you to the correct service(s) based on your profile information and other data you provide so that your recipient will receive the appropriate credentials evaluation report.

ICD uses your Applicant Profile to verify your identity, suggest services, and provide timely assistance. Keeping this information up to date will help us improve your overall experience with ICD.

No. Tertiary educational and licensure documents must be submitted by the primary source via postal mail or carrier, or the DCE. Secondary school documents may be uploaded directly by the applicant to their Applicant Portal account.

No. ICD will only accept notarized* copies of your documents. All documents submitted to ICD become the property of ICD and cannot be returned.

You will need an English translation with a certification from the translator stating that they are proficient in English and the language of the documents. For an additional fee, ICD can arrange for English translations of your documents.

You cannot translate your own documents.

ICD retains documents for three (3) years from your order date.

The time to complete your evaluation depends on the type of evaluation you have requested, the time it takes to receive your documents, and the complexity of your file.

Each college and university has its own requirements for accepting credits completed outside the United States. ICD’s evaluations are advisory only and each school makes its own decision on credits.

Yes. A written request to appeal must be submitted to ICD within 30 days from when the report was issued. If your appeal request is granted, you will receive further information about the appeals process and charged a fee of $500, which is refundable if the Appeals Committee finds in favor of your appeal.

Do not submit payment for an appeal until your request for an appeal has been granted and you have received more information about the ICD Appeals process.

No. Contact the Massage Therapy Board in the state where you intend to practice for more information.

No. ICD can only evaluate the credentials of applicants who have completed a post-secondary Massage Therapy education.

NCCAOM (11)

The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) is a U.S.-based organization that validates entry-level competency in the fields of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine through a certification process that includes an exam.

NCCAOM certification is required for licensure in 46 states and the District of Columbia.

NCCAOM performs credential assessments for applicants educated in the U.S. and manages the exam for all applicants, while ICD performs credential assessments for NCCAOM applicants educated outside of the U.S.

Eligibility requirements are defined by NCCAOM and are published on their website.

No, the assessment is sent by ICD directly to NCCAOM for review and approval. You will be notified when this takes place.

Once you receive your welcome letter, print out the program forms and send them to your school(s) with instructions to complete the forms and return them to:

  • For applicants educated in China: Beijing China Health International Education Consulting Co. LTD
  • For all other applicants: International Consultants of Delaware (ICD)

You should also send a notarized photocopy of your diploma to the source listed above. Once all documents are received, they will be authenticated by Beijing China Health or ICD. ICD will perform the credential assessment and send the final report to NCCAOM. You will then receive guidance from NCCAOM on the next steps.

ICD performs the evaluation from English language documents. For documents that are in a different language than English, ICD requires both the original documents and the English translation. Please refer to the below list for the methods of translation accepted by ICD:

  • Translations may be coordinated through the International Consultants of Delaware (ICD).
  • Translations may be performed by your educational institution and submitted directly to ICD.
  • Applicants educated in China may have translations coordinated through Beijing China Health International Education Consulting Co. LTD

ICD does not accept translations sent from applicants or any English translator that are not certified.

The time it takes to process your application will vary depending on the time it takes for ICD to receive all your documents and the complexity of your file.

No, there is no expedited option for a NCCAOM Credential Assessment.

ICD only accepts documents that are from Beijing China Health or directly from educational institutions. ICD will not accept materials that are mailed by applicants, notaries or other third-party agencies. Beijing China Health will not accept any materials that are mailed by applicants, notaries or other third parties.

The only exception to this is the notarized copy of your diploma of degrees obtained which you can mail a notarized copy directly to Beijing China Health or ICD depending upon your country of education. Your ICD number is visible in your ICD Applicant Portal account and in all correspondence with ICD.

No. Your ICD physical therapy evaluation is just one part of your application for physical therapist licensure in the United States. Contact the board of physical therapy in the state where you wish to be licensed for information on physical therapist licensure

Yes. Physical therapists can apply for a physical therapist assistant evaluation, except in the state of Florida.

No. We can only evaluate applicants who have completed a physical therapist education program and have been awarded a diploma or degree.
